A dynamic and polyglot city, capital of the kingdom of Belgium but also of Europe, and an open-air museum of Art Nouveau, Brussels richly deserves this homage. The exhibition will present all the works that have illustrated the most beautiful spots in the Belgian capital. |
28/10/2009›25/04/2010 : BIRTHS OF COMIC STRIP (SCHAERBEEK) © Impressions Nouvelles The exhibition takes a fresh look at the origins of the comic strip. The visitor will discover numerous documents on Rodolphe Töpffer, Wilhelm Busch, Nadar, Frost, Christophe, Outcault, Dirks and many others; but also, many draughtsmen unfairly forgotten to this day. There will be original boards, very rare editions, small films, etc.

During this exploration, visitors will appreciate the famous shapes of the Moumines through popular dolls and cartoons, as well as comic strip books illustrated with the original drawings before discovering less known adventures and comic strips. |

This original comic book exhibition organised in partnership with the non-profit organisation Le pied de la Lettre, Artefac and the Kotlib will enlighten for a month the amazing works of the participants of the annual competition Wolu-en-Bulles, comic book contest for amateurs which gathers for more than 6 years all kinds of speech bubble lovers. |

The Comic strip festival of the Brussels Capital Region is more dynamic than ever. This year again it welcomes more than 70 comic strip authors for two days. There is a also a large exhibition on the work of Raoul Cauvin (promoter of the 2009 festival), who will be present with all the comic strip drawers.

It comprises display panels tracing the high points of the Empire and illustrators' works related to the Battle of Waterloo, the Napoleonic campaigns and the major players of the times. Uniforms, arms, paintings and comic strips will create interactivity between the different rooms of the museum. A book-signing session and workshops are also on the programme. |

This exhibition dedicated to Lindingre will plunge the visitors into a beneficial burst of laughter in this gloomy period. The troublemaker Yan Lindingre is famous for his "comic strip where women are drinking and kids are smoking". The most surprising press illustrator of today will exhibit his illustrations/drawings at Quaregnon for a month in a bar-slaughter atmosphere. According to him, he's a messy writer. That sounds promising! |
