Mobility: transport and getting around in Mons

Mons has roughly 100.000 inhabitants. The city is in the heart of an agglomeration of some 900.000 inhabitants, all living within a radius of 30km.

The administrative capital of the province of Hainaut, Mons is home to the provincial government and most of its administration. The city is also home to one of Belgium's five appeal courts. A judicial centre, Mons is known as an educational hub, with numerous reputable higher education establishments and universities attended by no less than 15.000 students.

Third largest city in Wallonia, Mons is 56km from Brussels, 250km from Paris and 275km from Amsterdam.
