The RAVeL, Réseau Autonome de Voies Lentes, was established in Octobre 1995. Its aim is to create a network of routes that are destined to pedestrians, cyclists, handicapped persons and riders, where the circumstances allow it. The RAVel routes are meant to be fun for all users. This network takes towpaths and closed down railways. If necessary, linking routes will be created to form a network between the different parts of the same section. Its aim in the long run is to offer routes in a large part of Wallonia that link the network’s backbone to other routes.
