With age-old recipes prepared in a sophisticated way, and reasonably priced meals in Michelin-starred restaurants, Wallonia offers the perfect mix of local produce, generosity and history.
There are many specialities in Walloon gastronomy. You’re bound to come across the well-known ones like waffles, fries, chocolate and endives (called chicons here), but our region has other delicacies too, such as Ardennes ham, river trout and Sirop de Liège.
And we have no less than 300 different types of cheese and, of course, an endless list of breweries and their beers.
Not forgetting our water, because Wallonia has two spa towns – Spa and Chaudfontaine – where internationally renowned, high-quality still and sparkling bottled water is produced.
