Discover the contribution and the role of doctors from the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) regarding the care and treatment given to those injured in the war. In Brussels from 15/09 and 31/01/15!

The exhibition contextualises the various contributions made with the aid of over 250 objects, pieces, medals, wax anatomies, equipment, instruments, witness accounts, written documents, engravings, paintings, sculptures, photographs, reconstructions...

This exhibition centred on Antoine Depage, also shows that doctors were in charge of overseeing health care and carrying out medical research.

It also particularly focuses on demonstrating that despite the atrocities of the First World War, these doctors were carrying out extremely invaluable work in taking care of those injured and the treatment of those suffering, and thus greatly contributed to medical progress.

The exhibition recalls the humanist and universal dimension of medicine.

A commemoration book written for the occasion communicates the results of the research work lead by a group of former doctors at the ULB hospitals.
