Winter Wonders is back with its Christmas market, a big wheel and lots more attractions in Brussels, from 28/11/14 to 04/01/15.

A 14th edition which will be promoting foreign cultures. First and foremost, the City of Quebec, through an artistic installation called Boule de Neige and the food market with produce from the Canadian province.

Not forgetting the magnificent Christmas tree that has been donated by the city of Riga and which, standing 22 metres tall, will dominate the illuminated Grand-Place.

The 2013 edition was crowned 3rd best Christmas market in Europe, behind Strasbourg and Dresden.

New in 2014

A larger Christmas village.

The event will now stretch as far as La Monnaie and will include new streets. It will, therefore, offer more fluidity to visitors and retailers.

The guest of honour.

This year, Winter Wonders is honouring the City of Quebec. A wonderful programme and an original installation will liven up the new "place Ville de Québec".

A sumptuous Christmas tree and a new sound and lights show.

A magnificent traditional Christmas tree from Riga, capital of Latvia and European Capital of Culture in 2014, will decorate our beautiful square. The decorations will be illuminated by a brand new sound and lights show created by Koert Vermeulen.

The "Giants of the Earth" exhibition

The la Bourse will welcome the world premiere of a new family exhibition, Giants of the Earth. Gigantic animals will make the ground of this historic building tremble and bring extra large life to Winter Wonders.

Electrabel illuminates place Sainte-Catherine

Sainte-Catherine church's renovated facade transforms into an ice cathedral with a sound and lights show every evening. A videomapping projection will celebrate one of the people of Brussels' favourite churches.

New market area

This year, the Winter Wonders ice-skating rink will be located on place de la Monnaie, where, newly renovated, it will welcome young and old in a magical decor.

The new configuration re-draws the market area into a ring and allows for more fluid traffic. This change has also allowed for the chalets to be brought into place du Marché aux Poissons, also making the market more fluid and easier to navigate.
