The concept? A 35-minute concert to enjoy every weekday at 12:15pm, at the Royal Conservatory. In Brussels from 01/07 to 29/08/14!
As with previous years, the Midis-Minimes Festival's eclectic programme will be divided into five cycles that correspond with to the days of the week: diversity, discovery, encounters and surprises!
Mondays are dedicated to traditional music styles (see below), and the other 4 days then share the other various periods of music history.
The magic formula? Music from the middle ages to the present day! Singing, instruments, soloists, duets, orchestras, and artists have been confirmed and will be delighting audiences during these daily lunchtime concerts.
New for 2014:
A reinforced collaboration with the Brussels Conservatorium.
2014 also sees the first collaboration with The Musical Instruments Museum (MIM)!
Another new feature for 2014: Monday's schedule is being renamed Musique ouverte and in this way demonstrates its willingness to venture into "new horizons" (stylistic, historical or generic).
The last new feature for 2014: in addition to piano week, there will also be a string quartet week.
But this festival, isn't just about new features.
It always retains the features that have always given it strength: a diversity of styles, an undeniable quality and a concert admission price that has remained at €5, with possible reductions and deals.
Midis-Minimes brings music to the city all summer long.
