Relive the greatest episodes of Adolphe Sax's life and discover the entirety of his creative genius. At the Musical Instrument Museum from 08/02/14 to 11/01/15!

Enter into the universe of Adople Sax himself: A universe not only musical and industrial, but also commercial and personal, with the help of objects and documents displayed (which include some unique and never before seen pieces!), but also sounds and images, both still and animated.

The exhibition will cover different poignant aspects of his life and his work, which will be displayed in very distant themes: Sax inventor, Sax entrepreneur, Sax player, Life after sax, any many more.

As such, you will discover all of the different facets of the person:

    • His multiple inventions and improvements,
    • His personal collection of musical instruments,
    • His publishing company and his repertoire of instruments,
    • His family members,
    • And of course, his invention: the saxophone!
    • And not forgetting the saxhorn and even Jazz that, long after his death, gave universal scope to the saxophone.

Each theme will encompass musical instruments, objects, original documents, illustrations, sound extracts, films and many more.

The exhibition will consist of the Musical Instrument Museum's rich collection of Adolphe Sax, but also other collections both public and private.

This exhibition is, therefore the largest collection of pieces (some rare) of Adolphe Sax ever assembled.

An exposition absolutely not to be missed!
