AlimenTerre - The Committed Film Festival.
A chance to remind the Belgian public that more than a billion people suffer from hunger on the planet. In Brussels from 16 to 30/10/13.
The majority of them live in the country. This paradox is the result of political choices that we can have an effect on, as citizens.
Do we want to keep a food processing model which not only fails to feed us, but also has little care for our environment and our health?
Alternatives exist... and the AlimenTerre festival wants to promote them!
AlimenTerre takes place on World Food Day and this year will be the 5th edition. It is organised by SOS Faim!
Why a film festival?
Documentary films can be effective wake-up calls. They also have a huge capacity for raising awareness.
With good documentaries, the public can better understand the complicated factors involved in agriculture and food.
With a film festival, SOS Faim also hopes to support committed cinema productions in both the North and the South and an artistic medium with a "raison d'être".
AlimenTerre is the only film festival that brings rural life to centre stage and analyses agricultural and food questions in detail. Don't miss it!
