Milmort Oyster Festival
The thousand year old village will be the place to be to sample the delicious Marennes-Oléron oysters. In Milmort, from 13 to 31 December 2013.
Every year in December, the village centre is transformed into the country's smallest Christmas market with only 1 chalet
But it's not just any old chalet.
It is the nervous centre of a delicious, festive and convivial activity: tasting (calibre 3) marennes-Oléron oysters. They are served either plain or au gratin (straight from the producer, a guarantee of freshness) with fish soup or cod cheek beignets.
Accompanied by bread and a delicious white Sauvignon wine.
People come from all over the province of Liège and also Limburg and Brussels to visit the oyster festival.
Some even come from abroad!
Every year, some 35000 oysters are enjoyed, in the name of taste buds, conviviality and encounters... with profits going to youth associations and social work in the village.
Open on Friday 13 December from 6:30pm to 11pm and then until 31/12, from 11:30am to 11pm every day.
Except: 24/12 and 31/12, open from 9am to 1pm, only to pick up orders. Closed on 16/12 and 25/12.
Father Christmas will be visiting the children of the local municipal school on Thursday 19/12 at 1:30pm on place Melveille.
