UNESCO Discovery Circuits in Mons

All new rambles, on foot or by bike, where you can discover this UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Mons and it's surrounding area in August 2015!

The first circuit (2km) consists of a walk around the highlights of the Ducasse up until its grand finale: the Doudou Museum coming soon (open in April 2015).

The second circuit (17km round trip) takes you from Mons to Spiennes through the countryside.

Discover the mines of Spiennes (opening of SILEX's in 2015) an archaeological site, from the surface only.

Why not also stop by the Mons Natural History Museum!

There you will find a exhibition site dedicated solely to the Neolithic flint mines of Spiennes.

The 3rd circuit, departing from either the Belfry or the Grand-Hornu, enables the sportiest of you to undertake a loop of 20km along the Ravel route, where you will discover the mining history of the region.

A project of the City of Mons Museum Centre, in partnership with the Grand-Hornu Foundation, the Mundaneum Museum and the Mons Tourist Office.

Practical Information

The walks consist of independent and guided visits. Guided visits can be booked at the Tourist Office. Publications and information booklets on the circuits on sale at the Tourist Office and at the Grand-Hornu for €1.
