Brussels Eco Trail: 3rd Belgian edition of this run!

Brussels Eco Trail: 3rd Belgian edition of this run!
  • Opening periods
    • Saturday 24 September 2016
    • Address:
Around Brussels: contact the organiser for further details.

The idea behind the Ecotrail is to promote the most beautiful green areas of this European city. In Brussels on 13/09/14!

Discover the Belgian (and European) capital and its surroundings thanks to this outdoor run through the city that aims to promote the local, natural and cultural heritage. The longest distance is 80 km and runs along the Soignes Forest and the Green Walk to the Atomium. An original way to cross both Flanders and Wallonia regions.

En 2014, the plan will change somewhat, to put emphasis on contrast and paradox.

The trail enables you to discover the city in the most rustic way, by showcasing its numerous green spaces.

Sportingly speaking, to complete the challenge, runners must overtake one another to finish the diverse routes within a time limit.

Final paradox: the time trial sees the end of the trail, a bunch of pros who, like in previous years, will take up the challenge of the longest distance (80km), and other competitors who are eager to give the less ambitious distances a go (5km).

6 races on offer (all ending at the Atomium):

    • Trail 80km individual (qualifiers for the UTMB)
    • Trail 80km Run-Bike-Run: 3 runners with 2 bikes,
    • Trail 18km: departing from the Atomium (New!)
    • Trail 18km Duo: same distance, in pairs and not timed,
    • Walk 18km: for walkers, not timed,
    • Trail 9km: for first timers, those who have the "I trail for my health" spirit.

The starting points are all reachable by metro from the Atomium.

Races start late morning and early afternoon.
