Opening and closing gala, entertainment, concerts, exhibitions, meetings, debates, writers and film-makers are in store in Waterloo on 16 and 17/10/14!

This 2nd Waterloo Film Festival offers:

  • 2 official competitions,
  • 8 films in full-length feature film competition,
  • 5 full-length feature films previews,
  • An overview of 8 films with "Authors to discover":

Unknown in Belgium but well-known at home, their films will be shown twice during the festival.

  • Great Figures of Historical Cinema

A tribute to famous figures from the 7th art.

To start us off, there's Jean Marais and Gérard Corbiau! In honour of the former, there will be a photo and ceramics exhibition and a showing of 3 cult films.

A special evening entitled "The Music Teacher, already 25!" and a showing of 2 films (Farinelli and Le Roi Danse) will be dedicated to Gérard Corbiau.

  • Encounters with history

Each year, tribute is paid to some famous people from culture, economy and society... And who better to begin with than Napoleon, with a film showing, a debate and a visit to the Napoleon exhibition in the Wellington museum.

  • Educational sessions
  • Breakfasts!

All sessions on Saturday and Sunday morning will be preceded by a free breakfast! One of the greatest Belgian directors, Gérard Corbiau, will be a member of the official jury.

Thierry Lentz will be the president of the documentary jury.

You can attend 4 days of film showings and the festival's CLIONS awards ceremony for the best film, best comedian, best comedienne, best production and best costumes and sets.

There's also a "Rock Legend" evening, a vintage car rally, the reenactment of a historical banquet, a Tales and Legends evening, "Special Kids" and "Little Histories" film showings... which explore novels, comics and poetry!

More than just cinema. Relive history!
