Mozart Festival in Waterloo
9 high-quality, prestigious concerts. Most of the artists arrive before the first concert and stay in Waterloo from 21 to 26/09/14!
The 19th Mozart Festival continues the tradition: creating a unique atmosphere where artists and the public come together.
Remaining under Mozart's happy auspices, and with the collaboration of Richard Strauss, some masters of the American repertoire and more...the 2014 festival welcomes the incredible musicians Tatiana Samouil and Rolan Glassl for the first time ever.
They will be surrounded by artists who are returning sometimes after several years away, such as Abdel Rahman El Bacha, Hagaï Shaham, Justus Grimm, and more.
And, as happiness never comes alone, some extremely promising, young musicians, who are represented by the Young Artists Program, will also be performing.
The evenings taking place in Waterloo during this festival will be preceded by Mozart Preludes, where works of Mozart will be the primacy.
During the previous festival, a music-loving painter, Marie Chimkovitch (not to be missed) was chosen to perform.
This joyful collaboration is extended: bow strokes will once more become just like penetrating paintbrush strokes, which will be the object of short exhibition interludes throughout the festival.
Young talents joining the festival started in 2013 and will continue into the future: in addition to the Young Artists Program, which is in collaboration with the Waterloo academy, the 19th edition of the Mozart Festival will also offer a master class.
This master class will be lead by musicians who will be participating in the festival.
"Touch rather than surprise", such could be the motto for the Mozart Festival...A festival of high-quality chamber music!
The line-up of this year's Mozart Festival is as prestigious as ever!
