Hunting Festival and a large Game Market in Bouillon
Celebrating hunting may seem cruel to some, but hunting is essential. Come and see why in Bouillon on 10 and 11/11/13.
Hunting is essential as it helps to prevent the overpopulation of game.
Saint Hubert has always been celebrated as the patron saint of hunting.
A parade made up of hunters, horses, hunting dogs and various brotherhoods will be honoured by the sounding of horns from the Alps.
There will also be a game market, selling seasonal produce and hunting products held on Boulevard Heynen.
All the fauna of the Ardennes will be on show: wild boars, roe deer and other deer species, either whole or butchered, or even pasta and charcuteries.
Other food and drink produce, such as honey, cheese, pre-prepared meals, beers, aperitifs, champagnes, spirits, etc. will be on offer to enjoy on site or to take home.
Traditionally, on 11 November, Armistice Day, a service is held in the St Pierre et Paul church from 10am and horn players.
The blessing of animals will take place on the church parvise from 3pm.
All day, the horn players will play at the market and throughout the city. Atmosphere guaranteed!
You can also visit the fortress (entry ticket needed) with exceptional birds of prey demonstrations in the cour d´honneur.
The falconer and his birds will amaze you with their spectacular show.
