INTERNATIONAL BATHTUB REGATTA

A quirky sporting event, this regatta consists of a fleet of floating bathtubs decorated in unusual and original ways, which makes for an interesting competition that attracts over 20,000 spectators.

The regatta is also a means of getting the local population together, to have fun in a unique spot, to liven up the town and generally show that the people of Dinant really know how to have a good time!

There are rules and safety measures for every aspect of the competition; everyone has to abide by them and the River Police and the organisers will be making sure that they do. All sorts of themes (political, topical, sporting, etc) are generally covered with a good dose of humour and sometimes mockery.

The regatta enables citizens to demonstrate how they feel, and put across their ideas about the town, in a highly original manner....
