Why have a summer carnival?
Some say that carnival is the logical sequel to the "decathlon" that was once organised in this small city, and is therefore an excuse for the floats that are kept in barns since winter time, to come out into the open air.
Other suspect it's a mischievous way to have fun by forcing participants to wear their sweltering hot winter costumes during the month of August.
Or they just simply explain that the aim of the carnival is to have fun!
