With the 200th anniversary of the death of famous Belgian composer André Grétry just round the corner, his piano, now restored, is back in Liege!
It was in this very town that Grétry was born in 1741 and it is here that he wanted to be laid to rest after his death in 1813.
The piano is currently on show at the Grand Curtius Museum in Liege and in 2013 it will be transported to the Grétry Museum (situated in the house in which the composer was born on rue des Récollets) when restoration works there have been completed.
An exhibition and other activities are planned for the occasion!
So watch this space!
