City Sonic

The festival of sonic arts CITY SONIC is back in the forefront!

The ninth edition of this international festival of the sonic arts will take place from 26 August to 11 September 2011.

Performances, installations, concerts and audio rooms will give this ninth edition a kick-start with the addition this year of a Sonic Home, acoustic concerts in the City of Mons and the Sonic Garden Party, the Sonic Kids workshops and much more.

A great opening will take place on 26 August at 5.30pm (at the "abattoirs")

This year the art research group Locus Sonus is being promoted by way of a monumental installation, the Locustream Promenade, in the Maison Folie.

Fresnoy, CNAP, art schools and galleries from Belgium and abroad have gathered to make City Sonic a quality festival showing art in its fun and practical version through an itinerary of installations but also sound workshops for the younger ones (Sonic Kids), concerts in private gardens (Sonic Garden Party) and free conferences offered to you by Passeurs de culture and Ouï dire.

And for fans of electronic music, Transonic and Sonic Archipel will be performing in the city, together with Le magege.mons and cap sonic.
