    A journey that will take you from the first Sumerian talets to the digital tablet!

    Discover this history at Renaissance 2.0, that will be divided into six parts combining image technologies and documents that haven't been shown before.

    ‘How did our ancestors access to information before libraries and search engines? What upheavals does this numerical revolution have in store for us? How does the sharing of knowledge amongst nations encourage, even today, world peace?


    In less than two decades, digital technologies have drastically changes our habits, in every aspect of our life.

    This new area of distribution of knowledge has undergone premises and has formed thanks to the work of pioneers who succeeded in tracing a clear vision.

    The internet, a Belgian history?


    Paul Otlet and Henri La Fontaine, founders of the Mundaneum, are amongst those visionaries and their task is nothing short of an edifying testimony.

    In 1934, Paul Otlet, bibliographer and founder of Mundaneum, invented the internet.


    In June 2012, the World Science Festival of New-York acknowledged the work and role of Paul Otlet, placing Belgium at the origin of information and communications technologies.
