The fight of the gold stilt is the main event of the year for every stilt walker. It is organised on the third Sunday of September on the occasion of the Wallonia fairs.
For each fight, the contestants drew up in line. At the sound of the drums, the two groups moved forward and made their way to the place where the fight would take place. The fighters aim was to make fall the opponent by using their elbows or their stilts. Still today, young people from Namur perpetuate this popular game by spectacular animated fights in which the history and tradition of the city of Namur are brought to life again.
