• Its historical and religious heritage, with the Saint Gertrude Collegiate church, its many other churches and of course, the famous "Jean de Nivelles" bell ringer, who strikes the hour on top of the Tour Madame,
• every year, thousands of pilgrims get together at 6am and set off on the Saint Gertrude walk, a trek that, it's said, Saint Gertrude did every year,
• its gastronomic heritage, with its famous "al D'jote" tart, its "doubles" (two buckwheat flour pancakes with a cheese filling), its "colaus" (a spread similar to the filling of the al D'jote tart) and its sweets.
