What if we invited the neighbours over for a drink? An original initiative to meet others and get to know them. In Brussels the 31/05/13.
We live in a age of contradictions: modern technology means it's sometimes easier to communicate between continents than to simply say hello to your neighbour.
Why have a 'Neighbours Day'?
Hosting a block party in your neighbourhood, street or building is a simple answer to combat the loneliness and anonymity we so often see in our cities and anyone can join in, the residents are the main players.
A block party is a chance for people to meet one another. Sometimes it's the beginning of something: conviviality can lead to support between neighbours and small favours can lead to solidarity.
The more the merrier!
'Neighbours Day' is a national event, taking place all over Belgium.
The event is also taking place in Wallonia.
