Christmas village on the Grand-Place. Chalets with craftsmen, nativity scene, a giant Christmas tree... In Tournai 01/12 to 31/12!

For the little ones: tourist train with Father Christmas.
Shows on the Grand-Place from 4pm and Father Christmas' descent from the belfry at 5:30pm.

But that's not all, as Tournai has a lot going for it! It is one of the oldest towns in Belgium (along with Arlon and Tongeren), it is the birthplace of Clovis - the first King of the Franks - and its cultural heritage is protected by UNESCO.

A city that is bursting with History!

Once you have finished your Christmas shopping, take the time to explore the city and uncover its 2000 year history and many remarkable buildings.

Tournai played an important historical, economic, religious and cultural role as part of the County of Flanders in the Middle Ages.

The belfry, the oldest in Belgium, and the Notre-Dame Cathedral are UNESCO world heritage sites. The Cathedral, an imposing example of Romanesque and Gothic architecture is known for its five bell towers and its treasure.

In fact, it is thanks to this that Tournai got the nickname of "Ville au cinq clochers" (the city of five bell towers).

So why not make the most of the festive season to visit the region?
