Ski centre

This is the region - together with the province of Luxemburg - where we find the most ski runs. This should not be surprising, as the "high tops" of the country are situated there. Tops such as the Signal de Botrange, Mount Rigi or the Baraque Michel. Nonetheless, stations with such German sounding names as Büllingen, Elsenborn or Bütgenbach are also really worth the visit. Their advantages? First of all people speak German (but also French), so in a way it doesn't feel like Belgium anymore. Secondly, nature is absolutely stunning. In Bütgenbach you can practise cross-country skiing on runs of 2, 4, 8 and 12 km.

Information: Centre sportif de Worreken, 4750 Bütgenbach. Tél: 080/44 69 61. Price: free entry to the runs and 8 euro for one day or 5 euro for half a day for the renting of skis.
For a free list of the ski runs in the Cantons of the East, please contact the Office du Tourisme. tel 080/22 76 64. Or Sports d'hiver en province de Liège, tel 04/237 92 92.

Length of the trail: 26 km.
