CLERMONT-SUR-BERWINNE makes a very harmonious picture thanks to its simple and elegant houses.
In the square. CHARNEUX can be seen from afar - its symbol is a large white cross on the Bois de
Fiesse hillock, from where there is an unexpected view over the "Pays de Herve" region. OLNE has kept intact its country character and its old village where the houses are mainly built of stone. The Geer valley has a sub-soil composed mainly of flint and marl. These rocks have been exploited. This explains the labyrinth of galleries which can be found in the villages of WONCK and Eben-Emael. DALHEM had a fortified Castle and fortifications. The upper town with its ancient houses and the remains of the Dungeon of the old fortress is worth a detour.
