Pieces of clothing throughout history

The Brussels Lace and Costume Museum exhibits european wardrobes since the 18th century to the current day.

Costumes and waistcoats, ball gowns or mini-skirts, old and contemporary lace, embroidery, fashion accessories and original documents are showcased in annual themed exhibitions such as: 'The Roaring Twenties', 'Children First', 'The Sixties.'

Emphasis is put on Brussels lace, which is famous all around the world.


Future collections

Three times a year, confirmed artists and students of contemporary textile creation present their work in the temporary exhibition room.

Opening times

Tuesday to Sunday from 10am-5pm
Closed on Wednesday at 1 January, 1 May, 1 November, 11 November and 25 December.

The museum exhibitions are accessible for persons of reduced mobility.
The exhibition room of contemporary textile is only accessible by stairs.

A person visiting a second establishment (Museum of the City of Brussels, the Bruxella 1238 archaeological site or the City Hall) will receive a €1 discount on the second visit.
