The Lace and Costume Museum plunges you into the history of one of Brussels' heritage treasures, textile art. 

The Brussels Lace and Costume Museum exhibits European wardrobes
since the 18th century to the present day. Emphasis is put on Brussels lace, which is famous all around the world.

The museum also invites you to discover its original themed exhibitions. Costumes and waistcoats, ball gowns or mini-skirts, old and contemporary lace, embroidery, fashion accessories and original documents are showcased in annual themed exhibitions such as: 'The Roaring Twenties', 'Children First', 'The Sixties.'


Textile Box

The Textile Box is a lab, an art platform for contemporary textile. Three times a year, confirmed artists and students of contemporary textile creation present their work in the temporary exhibition room.

Visiting the museum


Opening times
Tuesday to Sunday from 10am-5pm
Closed on Mondays and on 1 January, 1 May, 1 November, 11 November and 25 December.

The museum exhibitions are accessible for persons of reduced mobility.
The exhibition room of contemporary textile is only accessible by stairs.


Prices

Adults: €8.
Seniors and groups: €6.
Students, job-seekers, beneficiaries of increased interventions or people on social integration benefits: €4.
Article 27: €1.25 + reception of an Article 27 ticket.

Free entry
 for children under 6, on weekends for under 18s, for inhabitants of the city, teachers and the press.

Free also on the first Sunday of every month.
