Charleroi/Danses - Chroreography centre for the Wallonia-Brussels Federation
Boulevard Mayence 65c
- MAPS: Google Maps
This choreography centre was originally part of the former Royal Ballet of Wallonia and has shifted radically towards contemporary dance.
This benchmark institution, not only for the French-speaking community of Wallonia-Brussels, but also on an international level, has been directed by Michèle Anne De Mey, Pierre Droulers, Thierry De Mey and Vincent Thirion since 2006.
Charleroi/Danses carries out its activities in Les Écuries, the former riding school for the police force (Charleroi) and in La Raffinerie, the former Gräffe sugar refinery (Brussels).
With its 400m2 stage, Les Écuries will see 20 contemporary dance shows this season, as well as the traditional Ballroom performance every last Sunday in the month.
La Raffinerie, Charleroi/Danses' "laboratory" unit dedicated to dancers, offers its Training Programme, regular and daily training for professionals and, this year, it will welcome the 3rd Compil d'Avril in its wide range of halls and studios.
