Constructed around 1270 by Earl Philippe de Vianden, this castle is a unique example of mediaeval architecture in Belgium because it remains in perfect condition. The Castle has never been sold, having been passed down through the family - today, it is inhabited by the Marquee of Trazegnies. Built according to a pentagonal plan, it has four towers and is filled with beautiful decor dating to between the 13th and 19th centuries, as well as a number of masterpieces. The master hall and chapel are particularly beautiful, being decorated with rare marble and decorative paintings.
