Original, unique in Europe. Masks and disguises from all over the world. Enter the fascinating universe of the mask. Travel through the world of winter feasts and carnivals. Discover the ritual functions of the mask in the five continents and the masked festivities in the country. Get to know the big European city carnivals, the carnivals of Wallonia and the famous carnival of Binche. Enjoy the carnival of Binche, as if you were there, by means of an audiovisual show on big screen.
New in 2009: "Masks Around the World". The museum's fifty most beautiful pieces. From 10 February, the major pieces of the four other continents will be exhibited.

Closed on Monday, Ash Wednesday, 1/11 and from 24/12 until 02/01 included.
Ticketing office open until 4.30 pm.
Guided tours by reservation: in French, Dutch, English, German, Italian and Spanish (according to availability).
Gallery of Binche: tape-guide in French, English and Dutch.
Bilingual visitor guide (FR-NL) available for temporary exhibitions.

Visits:
- Sections: carnivals of Binche and Wallonia. Winter feasts and big European carnivals. Educational section open to the public.
- Temporary exhibition.

Access: E19, exit 21 (Le Roeulx), direction Binche (at the back of the Grand Place, next to the church).

Extra information:

Free access every first Sunday of the month for all audiences including schools of the French Community.
Activities (reservation required): with the support of the DGAC (Directorate-General for Cultural Affairs).
Creative workshops and readings for children.
Breakfasts or snacks possible (reservation required).
Birthday parties are organised in the auditorium or the cafeteria.
