Coudenberg archaeological site reveals an underground route and a museum dedicated to Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor's palace on place du Palais.
Coudenberg Archaeological site
The Coudenberg archaeological site is made up of the remains of the old Brussels palace, the Hoogstraeten hotel and rue Isabelle.
This fascinating walk takes you beneath the cobbles of the place Royale on a discovery tour of the remains of the Coudenberg palace which was one of Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor's residences.
Coudenberg Museum
Housed in the remains of the old Hoogstraeten Hotel, the Coudenberg museum invites you to discover a permanent exhibition of objects found during numerous archaeological digs on the site in the last 25 years.
You can combine your visit of Coudenberg with that of the BELvue museum. Discover the BELvue Museum.

- Week-ends, 10am to 6pm,
- Closed 1 January, 25 December,
- Closed from 2pm on 24 and 31 December.

The archaeological site is accessible to people with reduced mobility who are accompanied (except Aula Magna). It is, nevertheless, recommended that you contact reception before your arrival.
