The cave has experienced a turbulent geological past. For millions of years it was hollowed by torrents then sculpted by rain water.
Thanks to its unique ecosystem which is perfect for the hibernation of bats, the cave has been classified as an "underground site of scientific interest".

1 July to 31 August and 29 October to 6 November: visits at 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm, 3.30pm and 5pm.
Weekends in September: visits at 2pm and 3.30pm.
