This charming little village perched on the hillsides of a narrow wooded valley, has retained numerous dwellings and small farmhouses made of sandstone or whitewashed limestone from the17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Lapped by the river Crupet, the principal affluent of the river Bocq, the village has benefited from its waterways which endowed it with a flourishing industry, which is indicated by the five windmills, a paper mill, saltworks, an oil-mill, a forge and a brewery.

Listed buildings and outstanding patrimony (in an intact environment) go hand in hand with the inhabitants' will to share their joy of living there.
