FRANC-WARET CHATEAU

© Domaine de Franc-Waret / Olivier Seignette
- Address:
Rue du Village 50
5380 FRANC-WARET (FERNELMONT) - MAPS: Google Maps
The Franc-Waret Chateau is typical of the 18th century aristocratic houses in the Namur area, built of brick and blue limestone, and standing at the heart of formal gardens. The huge square building, surrounded with moats edged with copper beeches, is perfectly in keeping with the geometrical design of the surrounding vegetation. A few trees are truly remarkable: a tulip tree, a large weymouth pine, a very old chestnut tree...
Discover also: 3 hectares of formal gardens with yew hedges and linden paths, among which a listed French garden, as well as a rose garden with old rose varieties.
Visits ONLY by appointment.
Access : E411 motorway (Brussels-Namur) - At the Daussoulx interchange follow signs for Liege then take exit 10 (Fernelmont)
