    The museum's numerous exhibits include the Burroughs machine : the first calculator/printing machine (weighing 37 kilos !), invented in 1886 by William Seward Burroughs; the first "portable" calculator, dating from the 1920's (7-8 kilos !); the 1921 "Moon Hopkins", the first adding machine to use direct multiplication - calculators at that time had used repeated addition without actually multiplying the sums.
