Le Roeulx, between Mons and La Louvière is your meeting point with one of Belgium's favourite abbey beers.
A little history lesson
In the 7th century, an Irish monk called Foillan (Feuillien in French), came to the continent to preach the word of the Gospels. Sadly, in 655AD, while travelling through the Sonian forest (where the modern-day town of Roeulx lies), Foillan was murdered and beheaded. His disciples built a chapel on the spot where he was murdered and in 1125 the chapel became the Abbey of Prémontrés: The Abbey of Saint Foillan of Roeulx.
The Friart family (today into its fourth generation of brewers) has been producing the famous beer since 1873.
Take your pick
The beers are addictive and a brewing method that is packed with passion and know-how guarantees you an authentic product.
The Abbey has a large choice of beers: Blonde, Brown Reserve, Triple, Christmas beer, St-Feuillien Grand Cru (vintage), Seasonal beer, Grisette Blonde, Grisette White, Grisette Forest Fruits, Grisette Cherry.
