WATTERMAN PARK

This 19th century landscaped park was bequeathed to the Town of Lessines by the Watterman family and was redesigned during the 1980s.
There are a number of remarkable trees, such as chestnut trees, a sycamore tree, Dutch lime, the American red oak.
As well as the Watterman pavilion, a late 19th century octagonal structure topped with a belvedere, the park also has a memorial to Magritte (a native of Lessines) and Braille, designed by the Liege artist Daniel DUTRIEUX entitled "Virage aux idées claires". This monument consists of 32 blocks of raised stone resembling menhirs spread over 50 metres.

Open all year round, from sunrise to sunset.
Access: By motorway: approaching from Enghien: A8, exit 29, then take the N57 towards Lessines - Train: Lessines station + bus 87B; get off at the Grand-Place stop.
