LOMPRET - ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES IN WALLONIA

Small village situated in a meander of the " Eau Blanche ", the site of Lompret has been inhabitated since time immemorial, as is revealed by the numerous archaeological discoveries. Its earliest archaeological centre dates back to the feudal castle destroyed in 1640 which was established on the extremity of a rocky outcrop. The typical dwellings in light grey limestone dating from the 18th and 19th century are reminiscent of the expertise of the population of times gone by.

In accordance with a French initiative, the association "Les Plus Beaux Villages de Wallonie" created in 1994 crowns the most beautiful country sites of Wallonia with its label. Listed buildings and outstanding patrimony (in an intact environment) go hand in hand with the inhabitants' will to share their joy of living there.
