Located in a superb 18th century house, the Famenne Museum is a place full of memories, emotions and respect. It broaches themes from the prehistory to modern art! The Merovingian and Carolingian periods are illustrated by means of a remarkable collection found during excavations in Wellin and Hamoir. The Museum pays tribute to the Mâitre de Waha, a famous late gothic sculptor. One space is dedicated to the Famenne and March and tells us about the geological and historical characteristics of the region and about the history of the city. One room is dedicated to the Monument, a 17th century sanctuary. The old professions, as well as modern and contemporary art are described as well.
