It was built between 1826 and 1829. It has a neoclassical style combined with modernistic iron and glass constructions. It was designed for the "Société Royale d'Horticulture" to protect its collection of exotic plants. The Cultural Centre of the French-speaking Community is housed there since 1994.
Multidisciplinary place for cultural and artistic activities with numerous concerts, "Les Nuits du Botanique" festival, exhibitions, film festivals...

The BOTANIQUE celebrates its 25th anniversary!
The Cultural centre of the Botanique was inaugurated on 24 January 1984 in Brussels and celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2009.
This anniversary will be celebrated all year long, with 25 activities or realisations in the different disciplines that highlight the Botanique, its most important productions, its major partnerships, its building and its prestigious setting.
A publication will present the cultural centre: its history, its missions, its goals, its accomplishments. In French, Dutch and English, and illustrated with photographs.

Muzex (music - museum - exhibition): a combined ticket for concerts & exhibitions (only valid on the evening of the concert). Exhibitions open before the concert, until 8 pm, for only € 2,- on top of the concert ticket.
New Talents, Cool Prices: for less than the price of a film ticket, you can discover young talents in the two rooms of the Bota: the Witloof Bar and the mythical Rotonde (€ 5,- for Bota'Carte card holders and € 8,- in presale). Only valid for certain concerts.
Exhibitions: From Wednesday through Sunday, from 12 pm to 8 pm.
Special rates for the exhibitions: students, Bota'carte, groups, seniors.
