OBSERVATORY OF THE PERMANENT NATURE CENTRE

The C.P.E.N. today called CENTRE DE DEPAYSEMENT ET DE PLAIN AIRE FLEURUS - SIVRY, is located in the romantic setting of a former restored train station with a 60 year old train in it. The nature is wonderful as well.
You can see telescopes, a planetarium show, an official I.R.M. station, a weather office, and sundials.
Children and adolescents can discover meteorology and astronomy by means of equipment put at their disposal, and with the help of specialists in every field.

Reservation: from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.
Educational activities: 1 day, 24h, 5 days.
The school chooses the educational objectives of its stay in collaboration with the Centre.
Themes: astronomy, meteorology, the ecosystem, geology, food-processing, water, the region and its landscape, the region and its history...

Guided visits (school periodes) for groups from 7 to 77 years (min. 15 pers.) and by reservation. (Rate: € 5,-/pers.). An animation is offered to the visitors with, the visit to the telescope, the weather station, the weather desk, the planetarium and some explanations on the different sundials.
