Board a barge-museum moored to the Sambre docks on the right bank of the lower part of town and discover the world of inland water shipping.
This museum invites you to discover the life of a boatman in Thuin, the different stages of period construction, scale models and documents about events during the war.
The love story between Thuin and inland water transport dates back to time immemorial. At the start of the 20th century, Thuin had over 1100 boatmen as heads of family out of a population of 5000 inhabitants.
This museum offers you an opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating and historically important world of inland water transport.
Open only on Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm to 6pm from 1 April to 31 October.
