A magnificent 22km cycling trail that will delight lovers of hill-climbs starts from the Pays des Collines (Region of Hills) tourist office.
The gentle slopes of hills surround the village of Ellezelles, an essentially rural region where a gentle lifestyle can be found around the little hamlets that you will pass by on your bicycle.
This lovely ride begins with the RAVeL. This old n°87 railway line linked Braine-le-Comte and Tournai and crossed line 82, nicknamed the "Mijnwerkerspad" in Dutch or the "Miners' path". Shortly after the n°80 intersection, the ride moves on to the vaste farming land of this agricultural land: the region's economy is linked to sugar beet farming.
As you approach Saint-Sauveur, you cross a beautiful forest that lines the roads. You climb up umpteen hills and ride down just as many. Cycling through the Pays des Collines is a true delight, thanks to the network of intersections which showcases it so well.
