Promenade on horseback

This track, that starts at the Citadelle of Namur, allows you to look at the Capital of Wallonia from above. On numerous occasions, you get a clear view on the flow of the Sambre. You will also notice that, although this route starts in the city (some caution is definitely required), the forest is never very far away.
The route is accessible to riders, of course, but also to harnesses. However, some roads are very narrow, and unless you are a very good whip, it is not advised to take this route with a harness.

The point of departure is on the Esplanade of the Citadelle of Namur. To get to the point of departure, you have to reach the confluence of the Meuse and the Sambre. At the Place du Grognon you need to drive along the left bank of the Samber for a few hundred meters, then drive left up to the Citadelle. This road up is winding and quite steep, but accessible to trucks.

Length of the trail: 11 km.
