Set off along the paths of First World War remembrance in the Val de Sambre and Thudinie region in Belgium.
These trails follow in the footsteps of some of the great battles of the Sambre, around Lobbes, Anderlues, Gozée, Leernes and Marbaix-la-Tour.
The marked pedestrian GPS trails that you can download in French, Dutch and English will be available from May 2014.
Walkers will learn more about what happened during different battles, the origin of certain soldiers, but also about civilian life, the organisation of the emergency services, the care for the wounded, etc. thanks to numerous information boards posted along the various trails.
Several bike routes that link the different battles of the Sambre, from Tamines to Maubeuge, with 11 major points of interest will be open in sections.
Don't hesitate to take part in the storytelling walks taking place on 22, 23 and 24 August in Anderlues, Binche, Leernes and Morlanwelz as part of the First World War commemorations.
All the necessary information is available from the Val de Sambre and Thudinie tourist office.
