LE CIRCUIT DES CAVINS

Come and discover Angre and its surroundings. This walk starts at the church of Angre. Built in 1075, it was the subject of numerous alterations in the course of the ages. Angre is also the hometown of Charles Bernier, renowned engraver. You will get to discover a statuette of the artist, placed on a piece of rock from the Caillou-Qui-Bique right before you cross the river. The "Grande Honnelle", because that is its name, has its source in France, at the east of Bavay. The Saint Roch chapel was erected in 1851 after an epidemic of cholera. From its orientation table you will have an interesting view on the valleys of the two Honnelles. It is also possible to do this circuit on horseback, but you have to take into account that a major part of the track is asphalted.

This walk starts at the church of Angre : walk away from the church, and turn left over the river. After the bridge, turn left and walk up to the chapel Saint Roch. Walk back down on your right. At the intersection with the rue Chasse Lotteau walk back up on your right. At the Haie d'Angre, turn left through the fields. Turn left and then straight on at the crossroad of the asphalted road. At the next crossroad turn right, then left and walk back up to the place d'Angreau. From the square take the ruelle Galot, then left. At the fork take the road down on your right, cross the river and continue straight on to the 2nd Saint Roch chapel. Turn left and then straight on to the church.
